• In 49 percent of child adduction cases the child was kidnapped by a family member, according to a report by the office of Juvenile and Delinquency Programs.
• In a 2000 U.S. Government study, it shows that parents need to worry about more than strangers kidnapping their children; their kids are more likely to be abducted by an acquaintance.
